Post holiday gifts

January 5, 2011- January=an extension of Christmas!
I am very grateful that the first thing that greeted my today was Aiza’s gift for me for our department Kris Kringle. Yey! Exactly what I asked for! J MYGEL different colored pens! Thank you so much, Aiza! You made my day!

Now that I think of it, I realize that an early indicator of my future plans to become a teacher was when I have always always been happy and excited to buy school supplies. Back in grade school and high school, I wasn’t really excited to buy new shoes or new uniforms or hair clips, what really made me thrilled to hit the malls when school is about to start is that rush that came with knowing I would be going home with a new set of notebooks, pens, pencil case, crayons and so on. I would feel a different sense of high whenever I am inside a school supplies shop! Seriously, I want to buy everything! J

Just when I thought I was about to end the day, Mar Jhun handed me a white plastic bag and he said, one of our students, Lennard, has a gift for me. January is an extension of Christmas! J

It was a few meters of beautiful cloth, a calendar (yey! I badly need you!) and a shirt. I’m glad I was remembered! It was really very thoughtful of him, amidst the fact that I am no longer their teacher. Thank you Lennard!!
Now, what to do with this cloth? Will I turn it into.. a pajama? A beach dress? A blouse? I’m confused. Gotta surf the net for inspiration!
