I went to school today for my Masters in Education and boy was it a looooooooooong day! I had to sit back and quietly listen to my professor lash out on and on as to why their school is better than private schools, specifically this certain prestigious school she kept on repeating.. the one which happens to be my work place and my Alma Mater. Sometimes, I think, if the privileged are despised for taking advantage of the less fortunate, can it be the other way around as well? Do the privileged few have the right to complain when they are being stepped on too? Will they be judged fairly based on what transpired and will social status have an effect? Does our social status really dictate how people judge our actions?
I don’t know the answers to my questions.. but what I do know is that there will be times that we have to be the bigger person.. that forgiveness and understanding have to come out from the person who is more mature, more receptive and perhaps, stronger..
My family, mom, I, sister and niece, went to mass today. We were surprised to see that the usually almost empty church was jampacked and to add to our surprise, instead of the usual 1 priest to preside or celebrate the mass, there were….. 8! This was indeed a rare occasion. The reason why I prefer to attend the anticipated mass every Saturday is because I find it more solemn and easier to concentrate when there are few people with no children playing and screaming. So, today, there was thanksgiving mass offered and presided by the 5 newly ordained priests, thus, the full Church. I am grateful though cause it reminded me of the Salubong masses every Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Cheers to.......... Ending the week right!
